On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the Highland City Council approved a special event permit for Immanuel Baptist Church’s Harvest Festival, to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, on the church campus, 28355 Base Line.
This will mark the return of the event, which was held annually until 2020 when the event was canceled due to coronavirus mandates prohibiting public gatherings.
The event is designed to give the community a safe place to enjoy carnival games, live entertainment and “trunk-or-treating” on Halloween. It is expected to draw 5,000 to 6,000 people.
The free outdoor event is held with the volunteerism and candy donations of church congregation and the participation of city services, including fire and police services.
The event will be required to comply with San Bernardino County COVID-19 guidelines for public gatherings.
