ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Hassan Haskins scored five touchdowns and Aidan Hutchinson had three sacks, helping No. 6 Michigan finally beat No. 2 Ohio State 42-27 to give Jim Harbaugh his first win as a coach against the rivals. The Wolverines clinched the Big Ten East and will play in the conference title game next week with playoff hopes in hand. UNDATED (AP) — Jim Harbaugh has always been a good coach. Now he’s a good coach who has finally beaten Ohio State. No. 6 Michigan vanquished the Buckeyes, ending a losing streak that has defined the program and its coach. The Wolverines were tougher and smarter, bludgeoning and confusing the Buckeyes with a well-schemed and well-blocked running game and getting after the the No. 1 offense in the country with maybe the best pass rusher in college football. Afterward Harbaugh said his first victory against Ohio State felt like a beginning. A year ago, it seemed like the end for him at his alma mater.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota surged past No. 18 Wisconsin 23-13 to take back Paul Bunyan’s Axe and give Iowa the West Division title. Tanner Morgan overcame an interception that was returned for a first-half touchdown. Penn State closed out the regular season with five losses in its last seven games.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Maryland earned its first bowl berth since 2016 as record-setting quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa threw three touchdowns and ran for another in a 40-16 victory over Rutgers. Halfback Tayon Fleet-Davis also had a big-day with a bowl-bid on the line, rushing for a career-best 152 yards and two touchdowns as the Terps rolled up 575 yards in total offense. It’s the first time the Boilermakers have won the Old Oaken Bucket since 2018. Purdue has won four of five to post its highest single-season victory total, eight, since 2006. Indiana lost its final eight games and completed its first winless season in league play since 2011. (AP) — Leigha Brown scored a season-high 23 points, Naz Hillmon had her third straight double-double and No. 12 Michigan defeated Mississippi State 64-48 in the Daytona Beach Invitational. Hillmon scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. It was a bit of a struggle as the 70% shooter was just 6 of 15 from the field. It was a milestone game for Kim Barnes Arico, who picked up her 200th win at Michigan to join legendary men’s coaches Johnny Orr (209) and John Beilein (278). Barnes is 200-102 in 10 years.
