Handmade fashion struts down Duluth’s Craft District

DULUTH, MN — Local fashion lovers gathered Saturday for a handmade fashion show in the Lincoln Park Craft District.

All looks showcased were handmade and designed by shop-owner Kirsten Aune of Kirsten Aune Textiles.

The show was reservation only.

It featured clothing pieces such as jumpsuits, skirts, dresses, and flowy peasant shirts.

Aune’s passion for art and fashion has driven her to include family and friends in a local fashion show.

“I used to paint large paintings, which I always had figures in them and they always had patterned dresses, and so now it’s like my patterns coming to life,” Aune said.

Kirsten hopes that this show inspires others to take up sewing again or even open up their own local business.

The show featured models that have supported Aune through the process, including friends, nieces, and community members.

Her shop is located in the Lincoln Park Craft District.
