Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Co. said it is in a partnership with Esports Entertainment Group to provide esports at Hall of Fame Village.
Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment is a resort and entertainment company focused on professional football in partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame Resort owns the Hall of Fame Village, a multi-use sports, entertainment and media destination.
Esports Entertainment will be the official esports provider for the Village and will operate a Helix eSports entertainment center as part of the retail and entertainment offerings. The new location is slated to open in mid-2022.
Hall of Fame Resort shares were up 9% to $3.71 premarket and Esports Entertainment was up 1.7% to $10.59.
The esports complex at the destination will feature 80 high-end PCs, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 console systems and other gaming and computing equipment and will be open for casual gameplay.
The partnership allows the companies to consider additional growth in other business lines, including the potential for esports betting and fantasy sports betting “as legislators continue to entertain the opportunity to legalize sports betting within Ohio over the next few months,” Hall of Fame Resort said.
