Gungnir & Storyteller Media Team On Page-To-Screen Partnership

EXCLUSIVE: Publishing house Gungnir and Curiosity Entertainment‘s Storyteller Media are teaming to bring a slate of projects to page and screen. The pair will work to develop a slate of book-to-film titles that will be published through the partnership.

Each will have multi-platform potential and benefit from the input of the creative team at Curiosity, whose founder Adhrucia Apana was exec producer on the likes of HBO’s The Survivor and feature film Capone.

The first titles from the initiative are Gina Din’s autobiography, Daughter of Africa, which is being re-released in North America this year. Accompanying it will be a new work from Din, billed as a “companion workbook on leadership and legacy.”

Kenyan businesswoman Din is known as one for founding Africa’s most powerful and well respected PR firms, The Gina Din Group.

Also on the slate is Broadway star Darian Sanders’ debut memoir, Don’t Fear Your Roar, which Storyteller – the publishing arm of Curiosity – released late last year. Sanders is best known for his role as Simba in Disney’s national Lion King stage tour, and his book is billed as “a raw and uplifting journey of faith, resilience, and self-discovery.”

A full publishing slate for 2025-26 will be unveiled “in coming months”, with genres spanning memoir, genre fiction, graphic novel and social impact storytelling. Each will be designed for TV and film adaptation.

Gungnir and Storyteller claim their alliance is “a new model in publishing” that allows creators to retain ownership, secure mainstream distribution, receive “tailored” publicity support and see their work considered for screen adaptation “from day one.”

“At Storyteller, we start every publishing conversation by asking, ‘What impact can this story make?’” said Charles Allen, Publisher of Storyteller Media. “We believe Daughter of Africa and Don’t Fear Your Roar are perfect examples of stories making a meaningful impact, and we are thrilled to amplify their voices with readers and viewers around the world.”

“Our goal at Gungnir has always been to create narratives that go beyond the expected,” said Matt Medney, CEO of Gungnir Publishing. “Storyteller’s approach to turning books into cross-media experiences aligns perfectly with our mission. This partnership gives bold voices the platform they deserve – in print, on screen, and beyond.”

Curiosity’s founder, Apana, said the initiative would allow the partners “to go upstream, discovering bold, visionary IP early – and cultivating it all the way to the screen,” adding, “This is how we build legacy stories that last.”

Curiosity is currently working on Ozark co-creator Mark Williams’ next series, a feature film co-production with Panay Films and a TV show from the Neese brothers, who are known for their work on Netflix YA drama The Umbrella Academy.
