Greenock Morton 2-2 Arbroath: McKenna penalty seals draw

Michael McKenna’s penalty against Morton ensured Arbroath made it seven games unbeaten in the Scottish Championship.

Gary Oliver equalised immediately after half-time and Cameron Blues added another Morton goal with a low finish.

McKenna levelled with his seventh of the season after Oisin McEntee’s elbow caught Hamilton.

Morton are eighth while Arbroath sit third.

Morton manager Gus MacPherson: “We played very well and full credit to the players. Things were taken outwith our control and nobody claimed for the penalty, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t one.

“Jaakko Oksanen was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch, in terms of his vision and technical ability.”

Arbroath assistant manager Iain Campbell: “End to end stuff. A draw was a fair result. Our spirit came through, but Morton did well and deserve a point. We’re a bit disappointed at the goals we lost.

“In possession we’re getting better, but when we’ve not got the ball we’re a hard team to beat.”
