George Strait is in the giving mood this holiday season.
The country music star, 70, made one couple’s Christmas wishes come true after gifting them with a larger-than-life present during a recent show in Las Vegas.
While performing at the T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 2, Strait presented U.S. Army Sergeant Mike Husley and his wife Meaghan with a mortgage-free home.
The house was given to the Husleys by Strait via the Military Warriors Support Foundation, which presented the couple with a decorative key to their brand new home during the concert.
In a video of the life-changing moment shared to YouTube, Strait is seen greeting the military couple up on stage while CEO of the Military Warriors Support Foundation, retired Lieutenant General Leroy Sisco, told the audience a little bit about the couple.
While addressing the audience, Sisco revealed that Husley, a Purple Heart recipient, was shot in the leg and “blown up three different times” while in battle.
“He shattered his backbone, his neck and all that,” Sisco is heard saying. “And for all that to be fixed, [the doctors] had to replace his hips, both of them. And he did all of that for our freedom.”
“We’re gonna give this hero and his family a beautiful home,” Sisco happily exclaimed, while the audience erupted into cheers over the special moment.
