MUMFORD – Celebrate the season by exploring the festive Historic Village during Genesee Country Village and Museum’s Holiday Open House on Dec. 18. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors will see the Museum’s 19th-century Historic Village bustling with activity as costumed historical interpreters demonstrate winter tasks and trades.
Visitors may also attend a traditional tree lighting ceremony with St. Nick, make winter crafts to bring home, learn about the commercialization of Christmas in the general store, taste historic foods, marvel at Victorian holiday decorations, explore Hanukkah traditions, learn about the significance of Watch Night, and see cooking in historic kitchens.
The historic homes will be open for self-guided tours. The homes will be warmed by fires and alive with holiday lights, candles, and traditional décor.
The D.B. Munger & Co. Confectionery will have historical treats.
The Museum is at 1410 Flint Hill Rd., Mumford.
