Suvarna Waje had gone missing on January 25. On the same night, the Wadivarhe police had recovered a charred car from next to the Mumbai-Agra Highway. The police had also found human bones inside that charred car that belonged to Sandeep Waje. Forensic tests revealed that those were Suvarna’s bones. Later, Waje was arrested as even Suvarna’s family members suspected her husband’s hand in the murder.

A senior official said the case is being investigated. The forensic testing of Waje’s electronic gadgets would provide more evidence with respect to his role in the case.
A few of Waje’s friends were also called to the police station for questioning. Additional SP Madhuri Kangane and deputy SP Arjun Bhosale, on Monday, visited the Wadivarhe police station to guide the personnel on further investigation.
Until Monday evening, no new arrests had been made. Waje would be in police custody till February 9. The police believe the murder could not have been done by one person, and more people are involved in the crime.
