Pune: Some thieves broke open the door of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s office at Pulgate in Wanowrie and stole five computer monitors, five UPSs and other electronic gadgets, totally worth Rs40,000, sometime between Friday and Sunday.
The theft came to light on Monday morning after the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) officials reached the office. An officer with the MSEDCL, Vijay Dattatray Mane (39), lodged a complaint with the Wanowrie police.
According to the FIR, the staff members locked the MSEDCL office on Friday evening after the duty hours. The thieves broke open the locks of the front door and entered the office. They unplugged the hardware and walked away with the monitors, UPSs and other electronic gadgets. The Wanowrie police said the office premises was under CCTV cameras’ surveillance. The police are studying the CCTV footage of the last three days.
