The Johnson City Press presents “From the Warehouse,” a music-driven series highlighting local and regional artists. Hoping to periodically provide homegrown acts with a video platform, the series is shot on premises (in an old city garage and battery warehouse) with the artists’ permission.
Preston Benfield has been making his way through the clubs and venues around his hometown of Roan Mountain, slowly spiraling out over the last few years and gaining traction and band members along the way. It seems he’s finally found the right combination of people, places, and songs to make his mark, with a solid band, good sound, and bright future ahead.
Working on his first album (due out this summer), he calls his music a mix of “country/southern rock with a touch of the blues.” Take a listen to “Dreams of Yesterday” and you’ll see what he means by that. Enjoy.
