A former finance officer of a non-profit organization in Bridgewater was accused of stealing over $75,000 from the group during her time there, authorities said.
The non-profit, which was not identified, noticed the discrepancy shortly after the finance officer, 55-year-old Bridgewater resident Jolee Roberts, was terminated and the matter was referred to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, according to a statement from the office.
An investigation by the office and the the Bridgewater Township Police Department alleged Roberts cashed numerous checks and utilized credit cards issued to the organization for unauthorized purchases in excess of $75,000 during a two-year period while employed there, officials said.
