The retired undefeated champion recently made headlines by becoming the first person in the world to own the complete Avi & Co. Hue collection, a stunning assortment valued at an astonishing $1 million. This remarkable acquisition not only underscores Mayweather’s penchant for luxury but also solidifies his status as a true connoisseur of high-end timepieces.
True to form, Mayweather, known for his enviable collection of timepieces from luxury brands like Rolex, Hublot, and Richard Mille, showcased the Hue collection in a special-edition winder display box on social media. He took to Instagram to share his excitement, stating, “When the craftsmanship at @aviandco is this impeccable, choosing just one watch wasn’t an option… so I bought all four from the exclusive ‘Hue Collection.’” This post not only highlights his love for exquisite craftsmanship but also emphasizes his commitment to curating a truly remarkable collection.
The Hue collection features four stunning gemstone-encrusted watches, each showcasing a distinct color: blue, green, red, and pink. Mayweather expressed his enthusiasm for this latest acquisition, stating, “The Hue collection hits hard.” He noted that people are always inquiring about his Avi & Co. timepieces, adding to an impressive collection that Forbes reports already includes seven watches, several of which are adorned entirely in diamonds. For Mayweather, this recent purchase “just feels right,” further solidifying his reputation as a discerning collector of luxury watches.
A Friendship and Partnership in Luxury
Founded by Avi Hiaeve in New York City in 2009, Avi & Co. quickly gained traction in celebrity circles, establishing itself as a go-to brand for luxury timepieces and custom jewelry. Hiaeve revealed that his friendship with Mayweather deepened as he began creating bespoke pieces for the former boxing champion. “He’s a very close friend of mine. We’ve been doing business for a long time, and outside of business, we are there for each other. We talk about various topics, and he has always been my supporter,” Hiaeve shared. This close-knit relationship not only highlights their personal bond but also underscores the trust and loyalty that define their professional partnership.
In July, Avi & Co. introduced the Hue Pink Ice, a stunning timepiece measuring 44mm in diameter and adorned with 495 natural pink sapphires totaling 110 carats. Proud of his creation, Hiaeve expanded the collection to include watches in other vibrant colors. Each watch features 945 total stones: the Hue Blue boasts 108 carats of sapphires, the Hue Green is set with 115 carats of tsavorites, and the Hue Red showcases 105 carats of rubies.
Before Avi & Co. had the chance to publicly unveil these exquisite watches, Mayweather eagerly opted to purchase all four for a cool million dollars. “It’s hard to choose one watch; they are all exceptional timepieces. I am proud of Avi and support him. He is my friend, and if I want to hang out with him, I can. You can’t do that with the owner of Rolex or AP (Audemars Piguet),” he remarked.
As Mayweather himself famously stated, “I’m a living legend. I deserve the best of the best.” With this million-dollar watch collection, it’s clear that he’s not just living up to that standard but exceeding it in spectacular fashion.
