Abilene-based First Financial Bankshares Inc. announced in a news release Thursday that it was recently named one of the top performing banks in the nation by Bank Director Magazine, taking the second spot in the category of publicly traded banks with assets of 5-50 billion dollars.
This is the 13th year in a row that First Financial has been in the top seven spots, and it is the only bank to have been ranked in the top 10 for five consecutive years.
First Financial took the top spot in both 2010 and 2014.
The ranking is based on a variety of profitability measures, including return on assets and asset quality. Complete rankings are available at bankdirector.com.
Weatherl & Associates adds to leadership team
Weatherl & Associates, an architectural firm based in Abilene, recently announced that Kevin Halliburton, AIA, has been named vice president and shareholder.
“I have known Kevin throughout his career,” said firm founder and president Rick Weatherl in a news release. “I’ve always felt he exhibited the kind of leadership and integrity that’s needed if you’re going to build a firm in this business – the practice of architecture has so many responsibilities and connections with other industries.”
Halliburton, who joined the firm in January of 2019, is a Registered Architect and Interior Designer, and is the founder of Ice Imaging.
Veterans employment services specialist recognized
Disabled American Veterans recently presented its National Commander’s Award for 2021 Outstanding Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program to Tremayne E. Hubbard, of Abilene, a veterans employment services specialist with the Texas Veterans Commission.
“Tremayne Hubbard exhibits the attitude, personality and passion of a DVOP who desires to succeed in assisting fellow veterans with their transition from where they are to where they are want to be,” said local veterans employment representative Sherry Byard in a news release.
Hubbard, who has been working for the Texas Veterans Commission since 2018, previously served 26 years in the Air Force. He is a life member of DAV Chapter 36 in Abilene.
