Financial stocks were edging higher premarket Thursday with the Select Financial Sector SPDR (XLF) recently advancing by 0.26%. The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X shares (FAS) were 0.51% higher and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X shares (FAZ) were down 0.14%.
Aegon (AEG) was rallying more than 7% after saying it swung to Q2 earnings of 0.40 euros ($0.47) per share from a loss of 0.53 euros per share a year earlier.
Broadridge Financial Solutions (BR) was gaining more than 7% in value as it posted fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings of $2.19 per share, up from $2.15 per share a year earlier. Analysts polled by Capital IQ projected adjusted EPS of $2.19.
OneMain Holdings (OMF) was down more than 3% after it priced an underwritten public offering of 7 million shares held by affiliates of Apollo Global Management
