EU Finance Ministers Pull Minimum Tax Discussion at Last Minute

European Union finance ministers Tuesday canceled a planned discussion on adoption by the bloc of a 15% minimum tax, amid continued blocking of the measure by Hungary, an EU official confirmed.

Czechia, which presently chairs meetings of the Council of the EU, had hoped to finalize agreement on the minimum tax as part of a broader discussion about EU funding for Hungary, which is on hold because of concerns about democratic and transparency standards in Hungary.
