Eminem’s adoption came out as non-binary.
The 19-year-old “Real Slim Shady” hit maker changed his name from Whitney to Stevie Rain. The rapper adopted a teenager when he settled with his real mother in 2005, but his ex-wife Kim Scott hasn’t commented yet. In the news, other members of the family showed their support.
In one post, they wrote a pronoun and told fans, “Call me Stevie (they / she / he).”
Social media posts were liked by Stevie’s sister Haley, a real child of Eminem and Kim.
Stevie also shared a video on TikTok about their transformation over the years, including recent short hair trimmings, with the words “Watch me feel more comfortable with myself.”
They added, “Growing and changing forever.”
Stevie (who has cleared all old Instagram posts from his account since he left) used hashtags such as #genderfluid # bi and #nonbinary in some posts.
The new name for the teenager was mentioned last month in an obituary about his grandmother Kathleen Slack.
“Kathleen was an extraordinary mother to her two daughters, Kim and Dawn, and was delighted to be the grandmother of her grandchildren, Arina, Adam, Haley, Stevie, PJ, and Parker.”
Stevie’s real father, Eric Harter, died last year at the age of 40 after fighting drug addiction.
In addition to Stevie and Haley, 25, Eminem adopted her daughter, Alina, whose mother is Kim’s late twin sister, Dawn, who died of overdose in 2016.
The day after Kathy’s funeral, Kim was taken to the hospital after receiving a report of an attempted suicide.
Police witnessed her home in Michigan on July 30, after receiving reports of suicide, and allegedly the 46-year-old was “combatant” and had to be detained.
She had a cut on the sole of her foot and was taken to the hospital for medical and psychological evaluation before returning home to recover.
