The city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Gibson Park on April 16, featuring thousands of eggs and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.
The event starts at 11 a.m., but the city recommends planning to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. The event will go on rain or shine.
The hunt will feature more than 6,500 eggs filled with candy, coins and special prizes. The Easter Egg Hunt age divisions include: 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9.
Nick Northern with K-99 will be the emcee, playing music and entertaining families. The Easter Bunny will be making a guest appearance, so don’t forget your basket!
City Park and Recreation thanked Jimmy and Debbie Filipowicz and Steel Etc. in a news release for making this Easter tradition possible for the 11th year with their donation.
The Filipowiczes are sponsoring the event for the 11th year since preventing the event from being canceled due to lack of funding in 2011.
“We are fortunate to have a community that cares about events like these, and we’re appreciative for businesses like Steel Etc., and owners Jimmy and Debbie Filipowicz,” Deputy Park and Recreation Director Patty Rearden said in the release. “They graciously fund all of the expenses of the Easter Egg Hunt, but it is just a small part of their on-going support and philanthropic efforts throughout the community.”
“I have a soft heart when it comes to kids and we want to see this annual tradition continue,” Filipowicz said in the release. “The community has been good to our business and we want to give back.”
Cascade Future Farmers of America donated time filling the eggs to be used in the hunt.
