After Battle of Fates became Disney+ Korea‘s biggest series premiere to date, the team behind the show are returning with an spin-off.
House of Fates will see fans of the mystical-themed unscripted series taken to destinations believed to hold powerful spiritual energy and experiencing ceremonies, local traditions and dining events connected to Korea’s spiritual heritage.
It is billed as a “heartwarming experience that dives deeper into the burgeoning popularity of Korean fate reading.” The program see participants receive their own readings as they share stories of love, loss and more, before experiencing local shamanistic rituals and gain access to the world of Korean shamanism and fate reading.
The news comes after Battle of Fates became Disney+ Korea’s top-performing show after 12 days streaming data, dethroning Moving. The survival reality show saw 49 of South Korea’s top fortune-tellers, shamans, face and foot readers, tarot readers and other fate masters compete to prove their predictive skills.
The show saw them use every tool at their disposal including fans, bells, dowsing rods, deduction, modern-day laptops and even communes with spirit guides, to provide accurate information and avoid elimination from the process.
Remakes of the show have been confirmed, with House of Fates the first confirmed spin-off.
