The largest store ever built by Dick’s Sporting Goods is coming to the Oakdale Commons in 2023, executive chairman Ed Stack said Thursday.
The two-level Dick’s House of Sport will encompass 140,000 square feet, feature an indoor climbing wall, batting cage and footwear department. It will be built in the former Macy’s store at the south end of the revitalized Oakdale Mall.
Outside, a 17,000 square-foot turf field with a track will allow people to try products and will double as an ice rink during the winter.
“We are so excited to bring it back to Binghamton, to our hometown, with the largest store we’ve ever built,” Stack said during a news conference at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, the site of this weekend’s Dick’s Sporting Goods Open golf tournament.
