PHES Gallery celebrates their first anniversary with a one-day pop-up arts and crafts festival!

Pop-up arts and crafts festival at the PHES Gallery. There will be booths with art forms, crafts to buy, two live jazz musical groups, and a fashion show. One of the booths will host an art therapist refugee from Ukraine. Crafted items raffled to support her and her daughter.

Sea Monsters: Delving into the Deep Myth Opening

Watch out for the tentacles while boarding.

See what natural philosophers thought about sea monsters in the Victorian age. The new exhibit is staged aboard the world’s oldest active sailing ship, Star of India. Kraken-inspired tentacles climb across the yards and rigging. A sea monster “crime scene” board will identify sea monster sightings around the globe and provide visitors with a global view. A special exhibit show will illuminate images of sea monsters seen through the lens of the late 19th century.

When: Saturday, July 9, 12 pm to 4 pm. Open through July 2023.

Native American Flute Circle

Hike some of the 60 miles of trails at Mission Trails and afterwards in listen to songs, stories and poems of local Native Americans in the Amphitheatre.

Bring your Native American Indian flute or just come and listen to songs, stories, and poems of the Native American Indian culture outside in the amphitheater. Beginners welcome. Afterwards, explore 60 miles of trails, Lake Murray, Kumeyaay Lake, and the Mission Trails Visitor Center.
