Five Iron Golf, an indoor golf and entertainment center, just opened in Block37 in downtown Chicago.
The new 11,000-square-foot “eatertainment” venue offers interactive golf with high-tech golf simulators, entertainment and events. It has a restaurant with a chef-inspired menu and full-service bar with craft cocktails and local craft beers.
Five Iron Golf is located at 108 North State Street in the Loop’s Theater District, a five-story lifestyle center that’s also home to Zara, Sephora, Anthropologie, Akiram Banana Republic Factory, First Ascent Climbing and Fitness Gym and Chicago’s first AMC Dine-In theater.
It has 11 TrackMan golf simulators with cameras that provide instant video analysis of one’s swing.
One can participate in casual play, leagues, events, private lessons and simulations of many of the world’s greatest golf course. It aims to make golf “more inclusive and accessible.”
“From the colorful murals on our walls to the events and experiences we host, every detail in every Five Iron location is purposefully tied back into our mission to make golf for everyone,” Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Nora Dunnan said. “We are thrilled to expand to a new area of Chicago and be a part of reimagining The Loop’s culture with Block37.”
Five Iron Golf has teaching professionals, membership, leagues, club storage and complimentary use of clubs. It costs $50 per hour to rent a golf simulator during off-peak times and $65 during peak times.
It’s an urban indoor golf experience chain that started in 2017 in New York City and has since expanded to Baltimore, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, and Washington, D.C. More locations are slated to open in Seattle, Boston, and Detroit this year.
Five Iron Golf is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
