James Weller’s recent fact-free Commentary is a sterling example of what’s happened to national and now local politics in the Age of Trump. Mr. Weller repeats false conspiracy theories to raise questions in the minds of voters. Never does he back up anything up with a shred of evidence.
Contrast Mr. Weller’s approach with a Commentary published the previous day from 10 respected members of our community laying out the facts about Greenway’s vision and plan. Greenway has been right about the county’s small population and inevitability of a tax increase for a train, the huge and growing engineering and environmental costs of the rail and trail plan, and now railbanking, on which the RTC provided a refreshing FAQ, debunking Mr. Weller’s statements.
