Cineworld Group Agrees to Payment Deal With Former Dissenting Shareholders of Regal Entertainment

By Kyle Morris

Cineworld Group PLC said Friday that it has concluded discussions with former dissenting shareholders of Regal Entertainment Group, and that an agreement has been reached for the remaining $79.3 million to be paid by June 30.

The U.K.-listed cinema operator said the $79.3 million, plus interest and fees, owed under the unsecured facility agreement will be paid in installments with a final payment on June 30, rather than the previously agreed date of March 31.

On Feb. 1, Cineworld said that it had begun discussions with the former Regal Entertainment shareholders regarding the potential rescheduling of the payment obligations under the facility agreement.
