CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro: World’s First Wireless 8K UWB Gaming Keyboard

At Computex 2026, CHERRY announced the XTRFY K63W Pro Compact. The company introduces the peripheral as the world’s first gaming keyboard to combine an 8,000 Hz polling rate with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless connectivity. This design aims to eliminate latency for competitive gamers in a wireless form factor, backed by advanced battery performance and specialized mechanical switches.

The core feature of the keyboard is its use of UWB wireless technology instead of the industry-standard 2.4 GHz wireless connection. Commonly found in smartphones and tracking tags, UWB offers high bandwidth to sustain the rapid data transfer required for a true 8,000 Hz polling rate. While UWB technology has previously appeared in select gaming mice, this marks its implementation in a high-refresh-rate keyboard. To power this architecture, CHERRY integrated a 6,000 mAh battery rated for up to 1,100 hours of continuous wireless operation.

Tailored for competitive scenarios, the device utilizes a compact 70% form factor layout with reduced spacing, omitting the dedicated numpad and several standard function keys. The design employs low-profile mechanical components to facilitate faster keystroke actuation. Out of the box, the keyboard features factory-lubricated CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 linear switches, which offer quiet operation, smooth keystrokes, and an official lifespan rating of 100 million clicks.

Regarding construction materials, the keycaps are manufactured using ABS plastic rather than denser double-shot PBT. To mitigate wear over time, the manufacturer applied a specialized ultraviolet protective coating over laser-etched legends. Structurally, the internal chassis features a layered gasket-style assembly designed to dampen keystroke impact and ensure a softer typing experience. The hardware includes per-key customizable RGB backlighting and offers native cross-platform compatibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.

The CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact will launch first in Europe this July, followed by an official United States commercial release in August, where it will retail for $169.99.
