Lagos seemed to have handed the gods of glamour a particularly generous invitation lately. One celebration gave way to another, and with every arrival came a new reason to look twice. From milestone birthdays to a cowboy-themed first birthday party and a string of high-profile appearances, Nigerian style stars turned the city into a moving showcase of glamour, color, and personality.
Among the standout celebrations was businessman Francis Nwaogwugu Udochukwu, popularly known as Vintage, who marked his 40th birthday with the aptly named Vintage at 40. Across town, influencer Priscilla Ojo Mkambala and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, celebrated their son Rakeem’s first birthday with Rakeem’s First Story, a cowboy-themed affair that brought its own playful take on party dressing.
The Rakeem’s First Story birthday looks added a fresh dose of Western-inspired style to an already fashion-packed week, with guests trading the usual party glamour for boots, hats, denim, and a dose of attitude. The celebrations, however, were only part of the spectacle. Designers, stylists, and celebrities kept Lagos’ style circuit buzzing, with each appearance offering a different version of what it means to dress for a moment.
Some arrived in gowns covered in intricate embellishment, while others leaned into sharp tailoring, rich color, or traditional details given a modern finish. Overall, the week delivered a parade of fashion moments that were far too good to disappear once the parties ended.

#1. Mo Abudu

Mo Abudu’s richly textured two-piece ensemble added maximalist evening glitz to the scene. Sequins, fabric patches, shag details, and vibrant yarn embroidery adorned the surface of a large duster layered over a black gown. In contrast to the darker base, forest green, emerald, royal blue, burnt orange, fuchsia, and yellow produced a tapestry-like effect.
A crystal statement pendant and earrings, along with emerald velvet platforms, offered pops of color and shine, while the black gown served as the focal point beneath the colorful outer layer.
