I braced for the usual creator tax going into Berlin week. A microphone refresh, a firmware promise, then everyone goes back to arguing about television brightness. The best IFA 2026 gadgets for content creators ended up being the story of the show, which I did not have on my card.

A pair of glasses learned to hold a script. A company that spent years making phone clamps announced the vertical camera that the Insta360 Luna Ultra still can’t shoot without cropping.
One warning before you read further. Several of the strongest launches can’t legally be sold in America. Better to know now, before you get attached to any of them.
The three tests a launch has to pass before I care
Look, I ignore 90% of gear announcements. A launch has to clear a few hurdles before it’s worth my time—and native vertical is number one. Slicing a 9:16 frame out of a wide sensor is lazy design. You lose half the pixels, and the second you zoom into your own Reel, you’re left with absolute mush.
Audio has to survive a bad room. Not a treated studio. A gym floor, a street, three people talking over a luggage trolley.
My hands have to be free some of the time. I own a Labrador named Theia, and she’s never once held a camera for me.

Best for vertical without a crop: Hohem Eyepic
Hohem clearly knows its way around gimbals. The Eyepic feels like the company took that know-how and built an action cam around it. Turn the display and the sensor moves with it, so you can shoot 4K vertical video without chopping up the frame later.
The part I didn’t expect was how much you can do with the camera itself. Pull the tiny camera head off the stem, stick it to a magnetic mount, or drop it in the pool while you keep the grip in your hand. The live feed stays on the grip, which makes the whole setup feel a lot more useful than a tiny action camera should.
Walking Theia twice a day is why the detachable head caught my eye—you can just pop it off the grip and clamp it somewhere new. The vertical mode is clever, too, using the full sensor instead of just cropping the frame.
I’d still wait before planning a kit around it. Hohem says the Eyepic is coming in Q1 2027, and every specification I’ve seen so far is still marked as a preview.

Verdict first. The iO is the best teleprompter at IFA 2026 for creators who script their videos, and the reason is weight. 33 grams of titanium and magnesium alloy do the work of a tripod arm, a tablet, and a favor from a friend.
