When the calendar turned to June, the Oakland A’s got hot and there’s really only one team that cares about that, the Kansas City Royals. Oakland’s win streak means that now the Royals are the worst team in baseball. So, the new worst team in MLB will host the LA Angels for a weekend series in Kansas City. LA is finally putting together a winning season with Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, so they need to take care of business against KC.
For Game 1 the Royals will send Brady Singer to the mound against Patrick Sandoval for the Angels. Singer is 4-5 with a 6.58 ERA and Sandoval is 3-6 with a 4.52 ERA.

On the other side, Patrick Sandoval has been almost as bad this month. In his two outings he has allowed 11 runs over 8.1 innings with 18 hits allowed with just three walks and 12 strikeouts. The fact he hasn’t issued free passes is a good sign, but giving up that many hits is tough to work your way out of especially with only 48 strikeouts in 63.2 innings of work this season.
The Angels were able to score with the Rangers in their four-game series and were impressive offensively, so I’ll trust them against Singer and fade their starting pitcher by taking the over in this one.
