June 13 — Apple announces the winners of the Design Award 2021. This year’s awards are divided into six new categories that recognize developers around the world for inclusiveness, innovation, graphics, fun, interaction and social impact.
Announced as part of Apple’s WWDC Developers Conference, this year’s awards received a total of 12 applications. At the conference, tech companies announced key new features in future updates to their operating systems (macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS).
The winner of the Comprehensive category was Voice Dream Reader. It’s a text-to-speech application that can read text in over 20 languages from any digital source, including PDFs, web pages, and ebooks. HoloVista is a game with many accessibility features such as visual, sound and motion control options.
When it comes to innovation, this year’s winner was the NaadSadhana app. This app uses artificial intelligence to help aspiring musicians improve their composition and publish their music. League of Legends: Wildlift Games has successfully introduced well-known and complex PC games to mobile. When it comes to graphics, Apple has crowned Loóna. This is an application that offers sleepscape sessions that combine relaxing activities, storytelling, and atmospheric sounds. And the game, its breathtaking, Genshin Impact with a wide range of landscapes.
When it comes to “fun and fun,” both the Pok Pok Playroom and Little Orpheus games have won awards. In terms of interaction, Apple has chosen to reward the Carrot Weather application. This application displays the weather forecast in a fun and interesting way. There is also a Bird Alone game for exploratory interactions that combine gestures, tactile sensations, parallax, and dynamic sound effects. Finally, in the category of social impact, Be My Eyes, which enables visually impaired people to identify objects with the help of millions of volunteers around the world, was the winner. And the game Alba: A Wildlife Adventure sees players save local wildlife threatened by the construction of a hotel.
