A-Train Got His Revenge in the Most Brutal Fashion

The following contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3, Episode 6, “Herogasm,” now streaming on Prime Video.

One of the most unexpected aspects of The Boys Season 3 has been A-Train’s redemption arc. Many hated him for pandering to Homelander in previous seasons, even if it was out of fear. Sadly, after he got back into The Seven, he once more became a pet to the tyrant. He sold out Supersonic, allowing Homelander to kill the spy and strengthen his grip on Vought International; something Homelander’s lapping up with Stan being ousted as well.

However, the speedster soon realized he was giving into a vicious system that affected his own kin after seeing Vought do nothing over the racist Blue Hawk. It came to a head when Blue Hawk attacked more Black folks in A-Train’s neighborhood, paralyzing A-Train’s brother, Nate, in the process. Thankfully, in the latest episode, A-Train got revenge in the most brutal fashion, but the toll was dire.

A-Train was frustrated after Ashley, Homelander’s gofer, made it clear they wouldn’t reprimand Blue Hawk for his sins. They wanted to present a strong and united corporate front, plus having citizens fear Supes would augur well for crime moving forward. She even called him out on his wayward antics of old, as A-Train killed people like Hughie’s girlfriend, Robin, proving he was a hypocrite.

Eventually, his emotions reached a fever pitch at the Herogasm sex party the TNT Twins threw. There, Hughie confronted him, but he apologized rather than fight the geek. It was genuine, but Hughie still sucker-punched him, knowing A-Train didn’t care in the past about the innocents he killed. As such, once the party was blown up thanks to Soldier Boy fighting Homelander, A-Train got a window of opportunity to exact vengeance.

The place went up in flames, with the teleporting Hughie and a powered-up Billy helping wreck the adult romp, leading to Blue Hawk sauntering outside in his undies. A-Train, no longer into fake apologies, was triggered, grabbed him and then sped off, dragging Blue Hawk through the streets. It remixed The Flash’s super-move from Injustice 2, but with a much gorier spin, because by the time A-Train stopped all that was left was a mangled body, blood marks on the asphalt, and entrails in the street.

Unfortunately, using his power gave A-Train a heart attack — something doctors warned him of in previous seasons due to his Compound V addiction. While he held off on his super-speed in Season 3, this moment of rage was worth it, allowing A-Train to take out a racist and avenge his injured brother. Hopefully, A-Train survives, but Homelander won’t be happy at the insubordination and how weak the speedster looks due to his shifting moral compass, and ultimately, a failing heart that shows The Seven are indeed vulnerable.

New episodes of The Boys Season 3 release Fridays on Prime Video.
