XFL odds and predictions (Week 3 best bets)

The XFL season marches on as we enter Week 3 action.

There are three undefeated teams left through the first two weeks. The DC Defenders, St. Louis BattleHawks, and the Houston Roughnecks all sit at 2-0.

Two of those teams, the Defenders and Roughnecks, will face-off on Sunday.

Let’s take a look at the betting odds and my best bet for each game.

XFL Week 3 odds and best bets

Seattle Sea Dragons vs. Vegas Vipers odds and pick

Despite being 0-2, the Seattle Sea Dragons actually lead the XFL in yards per game, averaging 315 through their first two games. Blowing leads has been an issue for them, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem against a Vipers team that’s second last in yards per game, averaging just 219.5.

The Sea Dragons also hold a significant defensive advantage, giving up just 225.5 yards per game which is the second best mark in the XFL.

The Vipers haven’t been able to find any success running the football, averaging only 3.22 yards per carry. Turnovers, bad defense, bad offense, no ability to run the ball. I’ll fade the Vipers until they can prove to me they can resemble a half decent football team.

Pick: Sea Dragons -3.5

St. Louis BattleHawks vs. DC Defenders odds and pick

The BattleHawks have the worst defense in the XFL, allowing 311.5 yards per game, the most in the league by almost 30 yards. They have a tough challenge ahead of them this week against a DC Defenders team that’s averaging 4.17 yards per carry on the ground through the first two games.

With that being said, the Defenders defense isn’t really anything to write home about either, allowing 254.5 yards per game.

I’m going to fade both defenses in this one, and back the OVER. Let’s root for points.

Pick: OVER 36.5

Orlando Guardians vs. Arlington Renegades odds and pick

The Arlington Renegades have the worst offense in the XFL, averaging a measly 185.5 offensive yards per game. I’m not totally sure how a team averaging 185.5 yards per game is an 8.5-point favorite.

Sure, the Guardians have been on the wrong side of two blowouts, but their statistics are better than their record indicates and Arlington’s offense leaves a lot to be desired.

I’ll take the points with Orlando.

Pick: Guardians +8.5

San Antonio Brahmas vs. Houston Roughnecks odds and pick

This is a matchup between the top two defenses in the XFL through the first two weeks. The Brahmas are allowing only 205 yards per game, while the Roughnecks are only allowing 219.5.

They’re also second and fourth in rush attempts per game, which could lead to a old-school defensive slug fest that will eat up the clock. I’ll back the UNDER in the Week 3 finale.

Pick: UNDER 36.5
