Shortly after Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry, welcomed their daughter in 2020, the singer revealed on the British morning show Lorraine that they didn’t want their baby girl to have a name as common as her dad’s moniker. The heroine Lyra in the fantasy trilogy His Dark Materials was the inspiration for their baby’s first name, and her middle name is in honor of a trip the couple once took to Antarctica.
