San Francisco 49ers updated Team Outlook after Sam Darnold won the QB2 role for the team over backup Trey Lance. Darnold started last season for the Panthers, while Lance began the season starting for the 49ers before suffering a season-ending ankle injury early in the season. Brock Purdy has been named the team’s starter and now Darnold will backup the successful second year QB.
