2026 NAACP Image Awards Winners

Sinners dominated at the 57th NAACP Image Awards, winning a total of 12 trophies, including Saturday night’s marquee prizes for Best Motion Picture, and Entertainer of the Year, for its star Michael B. Jordan. Sinners’ Miles Caton also took home the Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture honor. Jordan dedicated his award to the late Chadwick Boseman, his Black Panther co-star, in his acceptance speech.

Tonight’s three awards for the film, which leads the Oscar nominations with a record-breaking 16, follows its earlier wins in the pre-shows this week, including Directing and Writing for Ryan Coogler, supporting actors Delroy Lindo and Wunmi Mosaku, as well as cinematography and music.

The Image Awards, whic celebrate Black excellence and achievement across film, TV, books, music and more, also honored among others tonight, Viola Davis with the Chairman’s Award and Colman Domingo with the President’s Award. Additionally, Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella were inducted into the award show’s hall of fame.

Presenters for tonight’s show included Chase Infiniti, Delroy Lindo, NAACP president and CEO Derrick Johnson and chairman Leon W. Russell, Halle Bailey, Janelle James, Miles Caton, Nicole Beharie, Regé-Jean Page, Regina Hall, Ryan Coogler, Ryan Michelle Bathé, Sterling K. Brown, who won Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for Paradise, and the cast of Tyler Perry’s Sistas.

Abbott Elementary led the TV side with a total five awards, tonight honoring Quinta Brunson for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series. Its earlier awards included Outstanding Comedy Series and supporting actor and actress for William Stanford Davis, and Janelle James, respectively.

Kendrick Lamar and Teyana Taylor had the most individual noms (six apiece), and both scored wins during the pre-ceremony events. Other individual or projects with multiple wins coming into tonight included Cardi B, Don Lemon, Michelle Obama, and Tyler Perry’s Straw.

Tonight’s event at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium was emceed by Deon Cole and aired live on BET and CBS on the East Coast, tape-delayed in the West.
