The series’ cast is filled with rising stars, chief among them Sonoya Mizuno, who, as Mistress of Whispers, is certain to be at the center of every significant conflict.
A former ballerina, Mizuno graduated from the Royal Ballet School before becoming a model and working with brands like Alexander McQueen and Chanel. In 2014 she made the switch to acting with a role in Alex Garland’s sleek sci-fi Ex Machina. Since then, she’s appeared in several notable projects including Crazy Rich Asians, La La Land, and Devs. Still, joining the world of Ice and Fire should introduce the charming 35-year-old Japanese-English actor to a new audience.
Given her fashion experience, Mizuno wears clothes beautifully and likes to pull from the archives. When Crazy Rich Asians premiered in 2018, she didn’t look to recent runways.
