NNA – The media office of Finance Minister Youssef Al-Khalil stressed in an issued statement this evening, that “the Minister of Finance affirms his keen interest in achieving justice and revealing the full truth in the Beirut Port explosion dossier,” adding that the provisions of the constitution and the laws in force, as well as his position, are clear and firm in this regard.
“In this context, it is necessary to clarify to the Lebanese public opinion that the failure to sign the decree of the Court of Cassation’s judicial formations is due to the basic errors included that would create a precedent, if signed, which Lebanon can be spared,” the statement indicated.
“Minister Al-Khalil assures that work is being done to resolve the obstacles facing the signing of the aforementioned decree, and confirms that he will sign it as soon as these obstacles are overcome,” the statement concluded.
