Grab your tea and crumpets, Putnuts. Only Murders in the Building is heading across the pond for Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) to unravel another twisty whodunit.
The beloved Hulu series has been renewed for season 6, the streamer announced on Tuesday. And not only are fans getting another installment with their favorite crime-solving trio of podcasters, but the show is leaving New York City as the trio investigates their newest mystery in jolly old London, England.

The news comes as season 5 concluded Tuesday. Our podcasting sleuths finally solved the mystery behind the devastating death of the Arconia’s doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), as they tried to save their home from its ominous acquisition by eccentric billionaire Camila White (Renée Zellweger).
Season 5 features a star-studded cast of recurring stars, including Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Michael Cyril Creighton, and Jackie Hoffman. The season also introduced several new characters into the fold as Mabel, Charles, and Oliver tackled an emotional death that caught them in the crosshairs of a trio of ultra-wealthy characters loosely inspired by real-life figures and played by Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, and Logan Lerman.
“You can fill in the blank,” series co-creator John Hoffman told Entertainment Weekly when asked who inspired Camila. “I mean, I will only say that, apparently, Martha Stewart bought an apartment in the actual Belnord [building], where we [film] our Arconia on the Upper West Side, last year. So she was a tiny bit of inspiration that way, and I hope she gets the joke of the fun of it, because Camila White is a very different person in many ways.”
Waltz who took on the role of Sebastian “Bash” Steeg, was written with “a little wink wink at many of those in that business,” Hoffman added.
As for Lerman’s portrayal of nepo baby billionaire Jay Pflug, Hoffman quipped: “Jay is the son of a very, very wealthy, wealthy, wealthy family, well-known in New York. They were Pflug Faucets until they became Pflug Pharma.”

The renewal is especially great news for the cast, which has been vocal about their love for the series and their desire to keep going as long as the powers that be allow them too.
“You can just be canceled,” Martin told USA Today last month. “We believe we’re doing another season; we think so. But you have to live season by season. And even if it was canceled tomorrow, we would have to say, ‘We had a great, great run.’ … We loved what we were doing. It was a great way to spend five, six years.”
Gomez added, “I really hope that I can just keep evolving Mabel as I get older, because I want to do this for a long time.”
Only Murders in the Building was co-created by Martin & showrunner Hoffman who executive produce with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith and JJ Philbin.
