NCAA bracket predictions: Model reveals surprising March Madness 2022 tournament picks

The 2022 NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed on Sunday, and millions of fans are making their 2022 March Madness picks. Last season, three No. 1 seeds made the Final Four. This year’s No. 1 seeds in the NCAA bracket 2022 are Gonzaga, Arizona, Baylor and Kansas. The Bulldogs and Bears played for the national title a year ago, so both teams could be popular options to go deep again in the NCAA Tournament 2022 bracket.

However, all four No. 1 seeds have only made the Final Four once in March Madness history (2008) and a double-digit seed has been in the Final Four in three of the last five NCAA Tournament brackets, becoming the ultimate bracket buster. Which teams are poised to make a run and which top seeds should you leave out as you make your 2022 NCAA Tournament predictions? Before making any 2022 March Madness bracket predictions, be sure to check out the 2022 NCAA Tournament bracket picks from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulated the entire 2022 NCAA Tournament 10,000 times. It absolutely crushed its March Madness picks last year, beating over 92 percent of all CBS Sports brackets for the second time in three tournaments. The model also nailed a whopping three teams in the Final Four last year.

It knows how to spot an upset as well. The same model has produced brackets that have nailed 17 first-round upsets by double-digit seeds. It also nailed some massive upsets last tournament, including predicting the championship game between Gonzaga and Baylor, and hit Houston’s Midwest Region win even though the Cougars weren’t the No. 1 seed.

There’s simply no reason to rely on luck when there’s proven technology to help you dominate your 2022 March Madness picks. Now, with the 2022 NCAA bracket revealed, the model is simulating the matchups and its results are in. You can only see it over at SportsLine.

Three 2022 March Madness bracket games to watch

One 2022 March Madness matchup to keep an eye on: Boise State vs. Memphis in the West region. Both teams made the championship game of their respective conference tournaments, with Boise State beating San Diego State to win the Mountain West, while Memphis lost to Houston in the AAC championship game. Both teams are also ending lengthy NCAA Tournament absences, with Boise State getting in for the first time since 2015, while Memphis is making its first appearance since 2014.

Also in the West, No. 5 Connecticut takes on No. 12 New Mexico State. Dan Hurley’s squad was bounced by Villanova in the Big East Tournament, 63-60, and Hurley will be asking a lot of a core rotation of effectively six players. Meanwhile, Chris Jans’ squad went 10 deep in a WAC Tournament championship game win over Abilene Christian on Saturday. New Mexico State has only missed the NCAA Tournament once since Jans has taken over the program.

The third matchup to watch is also in the West Regional, as No. 7 Michigan State against No. 10 Davidson. Tom Izzo and Bob McKillop are two of the most accomplished coaches in college basketball, with Izzo sitting on 665 wins and making his 24th NCAA Tournament appearance, while McKillop has 634 wins and is making his 10th NCAA Tournament appearance. Both teams can shoot well, with Davidson hitting 38.8 percent of its three-point attempts (seventh in the nation), while Michigan State shoots 37.8 percent from beyond the arc (22nd). You can see the model’s picks for these games and every other here.
