Tipton County Travelers
Music in the Wild features the Tipton County Travelers in performance from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Wilderness Station in Barfield Crescent Park, 401 Volunteer Road in Murfreesboro.

Hop Springs
Located at 6790 John Bragg Highway in Murfreesboro, Hop Springs Beer Park offers a variety of live music and events. Upcoming activities include:
- 7-10 p.m. Feb. 25: Raygun will perform a free all-ages show that pays tribute to the best of college radio.
- 7 p.m. Feb. 26: Stolen Faces Grateful Dead tribute. Tickets are $17 and can be purchased on eventbrite.com.
- 8 p.m. March 5: A 21-and-older Punk Night will feature performances by Second Shelf, The Stephens, Big-if True and the Breaknecks.
- 7 p.m. March 26: The Beatles Tribute and 60s Experience featuring Forever Abbey Road will perform. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on eventbrite.com.
- 7 p.m. April 9: Motley Crue Tribute Experience will perform. Ticket are $20. Purchase on eventbrite.com.
- 7 p.m. April 22: Back by popular demand, Mixtape ’80s Tribute will perform an all-ages show. Visit eventbrite.com for tickets, which are $20.
Mayday Brewery
Visit Mayday Brewery, 521 Old Salem Road in Murfreesboro, to enjoy a variety of free events. There’s a taproom, indoor and outdoor space, and Ahart’s Pizza for sale. Food trucks are also on site at various times. Here are some upcoming events:
- Feb. 26: Ready to showcase your cooking skills? There’s a chili cookoff from 2-4 p.m. Email ariana@maydaybrewery.com to sign up. Proceeds benefit Operation Stand Down. Karaoke is 8-10 p.m.
- March 1: Enjoy Fat Tuesday festivities that kick off at 6 p.m. FitzWilly’s food truck will serve the best of New Orleans fare and Festivus Players will perform. Admission is free.
- March 11: (Hot) Chicken + (Cold) Beer: The Brew Tour will feature Hattie B’s served from 5:30-8 p.m. and music will be 7-9 p.m. Admission is free.
- March 17: Luck of the Irish will abound at the St. Patrick’s Day celebration that kicks off at 6 p.m. Enjoy green beer and music from TopHouse from 7-9 p.m. Music City Waygu will feature Irish-inspired food. Admission is free.
- March 22: At 2 p.m., participate in a cookie and beer pairing. Cost is $20 for eight cookies and four 5-ounce pours.
Sweet Leona
The Walnut House, 116 N. Walnut St. in Murfreesboro, presents Sweet Leona on stage at 7 p.m. Feb. 25. Carter Voss will kick off the evening. Advanced tickets are $20 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com or $25 at the door.
Gallagher Guitar
Enjoy live music in an intimate venue at Gallagher Guitar, 118 N. Walnut St. in Murfreesboro. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and shows start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $14 at the door. Here are some upcoming shows:

Battle of the Bands

MLT: 60th season kickoff
The Murfreesboro Little Theatre continues its 60th season with “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” on stage March 3-6 at the Walnut House, 116 N. Walnut St. in Murfreesboro.
The show tells the story of 15-year-old Christopher, who is exceptionally intelligent but has difficulty dealing with the sounds and stresses of everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.

‘Junie B. Jones’

‘Hunchback’
Center for the Arts, 110 W. College St. in Murfreesboro, presents “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” on stage March 11-27. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $14 to $18 and can be purchased at boroarts.org.
Heart Ball: Up late
The Rutherford County Heart Ball late party is set for 8 p.m. to midnight March 5 at The Grove at Williamson Place on Wilkinson Pike in Murfreesboro. Enjoy social hour, silent auction and dancing with Mixtape 80s Tribute band. Tickets are $100 per person or $175 per couple. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 615-340-4100.
LEGO fans take note
The award-winning Awesome Exhibition: an Interactive Exhibition of LEGO Models, will open March 11 at Opry Mills in Nashville. The exhibition is created by LEGO-certified professional Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught and presented by Rockefeller Productions
The interactive display will feature 40 large-scale LEGO creations, including the largest-ever brick caterpillar dump truck.
Additional creations include the world’s first life-sized LEGO brick Harley-Davidson, an 8-foot-tall, 660-pound Orca, and a detailed model of the Eiffel Tower built from more than 62,000 bricks.
In all, the entire exhibition took more than 5,000 hours to create with over 2 million LEGO bricks.
Interactive activities will include LEGO building stations throughout, selfie stations for collaboration and engagement through the 90-minute experience. The display will be open through May 8.
The Awesome Exhibition is located near Entry 6 and Regal Theatre in Opry Mills. Tickets are available at AwesomeExhibition.com. Tickets start at $18.
In addition to tickets for adults and children, families can purchase a special family pack for groups of two adults and two kids. Prepurchasing tickets is strongly recommended as capacity through the exhibit is limited.
Fundraiser
The Willy Funk Jam is set for 3-8 p.m. March 13 at Coconut Bay Cafe, 210 Stones River Mall Blvd. in Murfreesboro. Help raise funds for beloved Coconut Bay trivia master Willie Cannon, who suffered a heart attack recently.
Four bands will perform: Zone Status, Escape, New Binge and Stranger Than Fiction. There will be food and beverage specials, a silent auction, bakery treats, among other offerings. Proceeds benefit Cannon’s recovery process.
St. Paddy’s and shopping
Main Street Murfreesboro hosts Sip, Shop and Stroll from 5-8 p.m. St. Patricks Day, March 17, in downtown.
Ladies are invited to head downtown with friends for an evening of shopping for unique and enjoying food and drinks.
Raptor Day
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 19, explore the fascinating world of raptors with live demonstrations of various birds of prey. Fun activities planned for all. Learn about the world of falconry with a live demonstration. The free, all-ages activity is held at the Wilderness Station at Barfield Crescent Park, 401 Volunteer Road in Murfreesboro. Book sale: Worth the trip
Bibliophiles, don’t miss the monthly Friends of Linebaugh Library book sale. Set for 9 a.m. to noon the third Saturday each month from February through June and September through November, it’s a great place to find deals on great books. Proceeds benefit the library. The sale is located in the parking garage, Level 2, underneath the Civic Plaza, 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro.
Southern Spring Market
Makers Market Tennessee will be hosting a handmade market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 at Magnolia Farms, 2139 Allisona Road in Eagleville. The free indoor market will feature local artists, crafters and makers selling unique and original items. Visit makersmarkettn.com to keep up with the events.
