The PIAA and District 6 high school football playoffs continue this Friday and Saturday with nine teams from the Mirror coverage area in action.
A PIAA Class 3A game will take place at Hollidaysburg’s Tiger Stadium where Central will play Bedford at 7 p.m. on Friday. Bedford is the District 5-9 champ while Central is the District 6 champ. The two played during the season this year with Central winning. The two met last year in this round of states with Bedford winning.
In District 6 1A semifinal action, Portage is at Juniata Valley while Bishop Guilfoyle is at Homer-Center. Both games are Friday at 7 p.m. The winner of these two games will play each other Thanksgiving weekend for the title.
The District 6 2A championship is at Mansion Park on Friday night featuring No. 8 seed Forest Hills against Richland.
Northern Bedford, the District 5 1A champion, will play Reynolds on Friday at 7 p.m. at Greenville High School. Other games of interest include Juniata, the District 6 4A champion which beat University Prep, 8-0, this past weekend at Mansion Park, playing at Meadville this Saturday at 3 p.m. State College, the 6A champion out of District 6 will play Delaware Valley on Friday at 7 p.m. at Hazleton.
