Spooky fun, tasty treats await Halloween celebrants | Entertainment

The followed Halloween-related activities are scheduled throughout Trinity County:

Douglas City

Friday, Oct. 29: Douglas City Fire Belles Halloween Bake Sale, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in front of the Douglas City Post Office.

Hayfork

Friday, Oct. 29: Northern Delights will be hosting a Halloween costume contest and Merit Parcel will be playing. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the music will be from 9 p.m. to midnight. The cover charge is $5. The top three contest winners will receive a coffee shop voucher for $50, $30 or $25, depending on how they placed. All ages are welcome.

Junction City

Friday, Oct. 29: Junction City Fire Jills Halloween Bake Sale, 9 a.m. to noon in front of the Junction City Store. Fundraiser for the Junction City VFD.

Lewiston

Sunday, Oct. 31: The Lewiston Community Church invites you to its 2nd annual TRUNK or TREAT, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewiston Community Park Pavilion. The pavilion is located between Fremont Street and Trinity Vista.

There will be car to car trunk or treating with candy,

Weaverville

Saturday, Oct. 30: Night of Historical Haunts. Explore Weaverville’s glittering Gold Rush past via its haunted present. An intimate evening of beverages, ghost hunting and storytelling.

Tickets $35, available at the Trinity County Visitor Center, 509 Main St., 623-6101.

Saturday, Oct. 30: Downtown fun for all presented by the Weaverville Chamber of Commerce, 6 to 8 p.m.; Rainy Day Picnic at the Bandstand, food venders by Tammie’s Books, fortune tellers throughout downtown, museum tours and stories, magician. At 9 p.m. Karaoke & DJ at the New York Saloon.

Sunday, Oct. 31: Munchkins & Merchants, 4 to 5 p.m., Museum Scavenger Hunt; Story and Puppet Hour, hosted by Mountain Goat Kids.

Sunday Oct. 31: The Weaverville Chamber Halloween fun drive-by, 5 to 7 p.m. at Lee Fong Park.

Sunday, Oct. 31: Halloween Candy Give Away in Historic Downtown Weaverville, 5:30 to 7 p.m. It is a fun time brought to you by your downtown merchants.
