Hutchinson senior Gracie Foster
Hutchinson senior singles tennis player Gracie Foster is now a three-time regional champion. Foster was named the Class 6A Dodge City regional champion over the weekend. The Hutchinson Salthawks, as a team, finished second and also advance to the state tennis tournament in Wichita Oct. 15-16.
Cheney girls golf team
The Cheney girls golf team won Central Plains League golf title last week. Kaitlyn Fowler, Nicole Krueger, Hayle Sutter, Brynn McCormick, Payton Ryba, and Amelia Menga contributed to the team’s first-place finish.
Bennie Horsch, senior, Sterling
Sterling senior setter Bennie Horsch reached a volleyball milestone in her individual career. Horsch reached 2,000 career assists.
Josie McLean, junior, Nickerson
Nickerson junior setter and multi-sport athlete Josie McLean reached 1,000 career assists in two seasons of stats. Head coach Payton Scheer said McLean is the quarterback of the team.

Buhler Crusaders football team
For the first time since 2016, the Buhler Crusaders defeated the McPherson Bullpups 42-30. The Crusaders’ handed the Bullpups their first loss of the season. The Crusaders move from No. 5 to No. 2 in the latest Kansas high school football state rankings by the Kansas sports writers.

Zach Hogan, senior, Hutchinson
Hutchinson Salthawks running back Zach Hogan went off in a shifted and fixed offense. The Salthawks beat Salina South 41-7 Friday, and Hogan had 13 carries for 173 yards and two touchdowns, including a 72-yard touchdown run to get the Salthawks back in the win column.
