Kerry Washington‘s knowledge of her Scandal costars was put to the test on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Host Jimmy Kimmel challenged the actress, who starred as Olivia Pope on the beloved ABC drama for seven seasons, on Thursday’s episode to see if she could identify one of her former cast members using only physical touch and smell.
“I’m gonna ask you to put on a blindfold and then we’re gonna bring out three men,” Kimmel explained. “One of those men is a costar from the show Scandal, okay? Which narrows it down to about 15 men in the world.”
Kimmel also clarified that the men involved would not be allowed to talk throughout the segment. “I feel very vulnerable,” a blindfolded Washington confessed. “What’s happening?”
The first individual — Jimmy Kimmel Live announcer and Dimension 20 star Lou Wilson — was then invited on stage.
“And this person doesn’t mind if I touch their face?” Washington checked as Wilson shook his head. Kimmel jokingly replied, “Not only that, there was a fight over who got to do this.”

After touching Wilson and giving him a quick sniff, Washington moved on to the second participant: Guillermo Díaz, who starred opposite her as Huck Muñoz on every season of Scandal.
“Oooh,” Washington said as she felt Díaz’s face. “You should talk, whoever this is. You should laugh. What if I tickle you? Will you laugh?”
She followed up her questioning by digging into Díaz’s sides, trying to get him to break. “I almost got a laugh!” Washington cheered. “Oh, I think I might know!”
Kimmel got in on the fun, too. “Also one of these people has ringworm,” he teased, prompting Washington to throw her hands off Díaz’s face and shout, “What?!”

The third and final individual — Kimmel’s longtime sidekick, another Guillermo — was then brought out. “This person’s very small,” Washington noted as she felt Guillermo’s head and shoulders. “Hi!”
After touching all three participants, Washington asked to bring Díaz back. “I have a feeling. I don’t know! But this feels familiar,” she said as she ruffled his beard, before announcing that he was her pick. Still, she worried, “But what if I’m wrong?”
After taking a beat, she confirmed her guess. “Is it possible that two out of the three people that I touched are named Guillermo?” Washington asked. To which Kimmel responded, “It is possible, yes.”
Overjoyed, Washington didn’t even wait to take off her blindfold before pulling Díaz into a hug. Upon actually removing it, she began to cheer excitedly as she pulled him into another tight embrace.
Díaz knew Washington was going to figure it out, even with a blindfold on. “I was like, ‘She’s gonna get it when she feels my beard,'” he said.
Although, Kimmel acknowledged, Washington technically could have picked either Guillermo, as his sidekick also starred alongside Washington in a series of Scandal spoofs called Escandalo that were featured on the late-night show back in 2014.
Pointing toward Díaz, Kimmel then saluted him for his 124 episodes opposite Washington. “Guillermo Díaz, everybody!”
