Marin Catholic standout Kody Perry announced on Friday that he committed to Trinity College, a Division III NCAA program in Connecticut.

Perry, who is entering his senior year, was a threat on both sides of the ball for the 12-8 Wildcats last season. He batted .359 with one home run and had team-highs in hits (23), RBIs (17) and doubles (6). He also allowed only five hits in 18 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts and a 1.56 earned-run average.

Perry threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk against Novato in the spring.

  • The San Rafael Pacifics picked up another on Thursday, beating the Monterey Amberjacks 6-4 to improve to 19-17. Starter Jarrod Dumont pitched eight strong innings with five strikeouts and two earned runs and hit a pair of doubles with two RBIs at the plate.
Michael Theisen also drove in two runs with a double and a home run while Jeff Disla also went yard with a pair of RBIs.
  • Former Novato High standout Jake Tirk pitched well, scattering six hits in five shutout innings, but it wasn’t enough as the Novato Knicks fell to the Yuba Gold Sox 8-3 on Thursday. Des Gates went 4 for 5 with a run and former Tam standout Jake Ferguson went 1 for 3 with a walk.
