After a jazzy, high-heel dancing, bead-throwing entrance at “The Bachelor” mansion on Monday night, Louisiana contestant Vanessa Dinh’s stay, along with that of nine other contestants, proved a brief one.
Dinh, 23, of Baton Rouge, is a 2021 graduate of LSU and a social media marketing specialist for GO Eat Concepts.
Things looked promising for her at the beginning of the two-hour premiere of the series’ 27th season, with Zach Shallcross giving the petite brunette a twirl as a jazz trumpeter played in front of the lavish California home where the ABC reality series is filmed.
However, Dinh didn’t get one-on-one time with the bachelor after that, or at least it wasn’t aired. Her fellow contestants in the same boat shared their fear that those that did get to schmooze with Shallcross privately would have an advantage in the rose ceremony.
For those unfamiliar with the inner workings of “The Bachelor” process, if you don’t receive a red rose from said bachelor during the weekly princely ceremony you don’t advance on in the competition.
Shallcross, 26 and a tech executive from Anaheim Hills, California, handed out only 20 roses, trimming the “happily ever after” hopefuls by a third. During the next few episodes, he’ll be seen going on dates with each of them in his attempt to find his soulmate.
