Matt Hancock: gadgets seized in inquiry into CCTV leak that brought down health secretary | News

Computer equipment and electronic devices have been seized as part of an investigation into how the CCTV images that revealed Matt Hancock’s affair and led to his resignation became public.

The affair between the health secretary and his aide, Gina Coladangelo, was exposed when images of him kissing her were printed by The Sun on June 25. They had been taken by CCTV in his government office, sparking security concerns.

Documents reveal that the company contracted to oversee security at the office is Emcor UK, which has lodged a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Today a statement from the ICO confirmed data protection officers had taken gadgets from two homes in the south of England after a search.
