Alternative singer / songwriter booked return to Vienna-based club
Despite being one of Nashville’s most promising songwriters, Cory Branan has always considered it “too punk” in the country scene. The singer is known for his deep lyrics and alternative sounds, and his latest album “Adios” proves that his songs are truly versatile.
A pandemic broke out last year as a 46-year-old woman had established even stronger support, and his career seemed to stagnate.
“I thought I could be off work for two years, so I almost got a home rig and got a rabbit hole in everything I’ve avoided doing this for over 20 years in the studio. I got off. He kept him sharp and he came back soon when the tour opportunity came again. On June 19, Branan will head to Jamin Java as one of the first stops since the pandemic.
“I’ve played here before and it’s a really great place for nice people to get together,” he said. “I’m just going to do some shows on the East Coast, and then head to the West Coast this fall and just play as much as I can.”
It’s been three years since “Adios” came out, and Brannan has written a lot of material since then, but I don’t know what he can actually do with his next work.
“I’m hoping to sign a new contract by then and get a record for next spring, with the idea of taking a short break after this run and before the fall,” he said. “I’m sitting on three or four records in my head, so I don’t know which one to choose, but there’s no doubt that something will come.”
His other four full-length releases are steadily ranging from “The Hell You Say” in 2002 to “12 Songs” in 2006, “Mutt” in 2012 and “The No-Hit Wonder” in 2014. Indicates that it is mature.

Brannan began his professional musical journey a little later than most. He started writing songs at the age of 25, and the songs continued to come.
“I was always afraid of my voice early on, but I signed a deal and moved from one label to the next,” he said. “I started the tour, but it didn’t stop. I didn’t have many plans, and you need to be prepared for many changes in the industry. I can’t make a five-year plan. Just the way. I just want to go back and make music. I’m not thinking about anything more. ”
At the Jamin Java Show, the singer expects to play some of his most popular songs. But he will also immerse himself in some of those new songs he mentioned, and give fans a say.
“Usually on the back end of a set, they play whatever they want to hear,” Brannan said. “It helps me stay on my toes to change things every night.”
He invites everyone at night and knows that just being back in front of the live crowd will be something special.
“This is what we all need. I’m very excited to get back on the road and head for all the good people in Virginia,” Brannan said.
