Vanna White, 68, Gets First Tattoo Done by Lookalike Daughter Gigi

Vanna White waited decades to get her first tattoo and when she finally took the plunge, she knew exactly who to call.

On March 10, the Wheel of Fortune cohost announced that she got inked for the very first time by her daughter, Giovanna “Gigi” Santo Pietro, who is also a tattoo artist at Lincoln Tattoo Company in Venice, Calif.

White, 68, captured many behind-the-scenes clips of the sweet moment. The beginning of her video shows her and her lookalike daughter (who’s the youngest of White’s two kids with ex-husband George Santo Pietro) hugging before heading into the studio.

“She’s not making me do this. It’s my choice,” White said before revealing that her tattoo, which she decided to get on her wrist, would be of a heart — “so I can look at it everyday because she did it,” she explained.

The two then went into discussing exactly how White’s tattoo would look, from the color to the shape of it, eventually landing on a dainty hot pink outline of the motif.

“Are you nervous? I can feel you shaking” Gigi said through a smile as she prepped her mom’s skin.

“I don’t if I can watch. I might pass out,” joked White, who actually took the needling like a champ. “I don’t feel anything,” she mouthed to the camera.

Once the tattoo was official, White was in love with the result. “It looks perfect. It’s just what I wanted,” she gushed.

White admitted that she’s been waiting for this moment for a long time and even told PEOPLE in 2022 that she always planned on having her kid be a part of the special occasion.

“I want to have matching hearts where she’ll do a little heart on me and she’ll do one on herself. I feel like I need to do that because it’s her and it would be her on me,” she said.

The television icon also praised how far Gigi has come in her career.

“I said, ‘Gigi, why tattooing?” She goes, ‘Mom, my art is on someone’s body for the rest of their lives.’ I was like, ‘That’s pretty cool.’ You have to be so good and confident. You can’t mess up. So she absolutely loves it. She’s been doing that for the past three years and is doing a great job. I’m so, so proud of her.”
