The French pharmacy approach is one that folks all over the world swear by. Even U.S.-based dermatologists wax poetic about the skincare favorites they can’t leave France without. It isn’t exactly a mystery why it’s so beloved everywhere either. French pharmacy brands create expertly formulated products that are sensitive skin-friendly, affordable, and highly effective. Most importantly, there’s a larger focus on long-term skin health rather than trendy ingredients that add no real value to the formula. It’s such a solid way of doing things that many brand founders have been inspired to create their own take on this approach.
While simple is usually best, newer French pharmacy–inspired brands are focused more on skin regeneration. After a difficult infertility journey, French Farmacie founder Tricia Marlowe found solace in smaller daily rituals that helped her build resilience. “Along the way, I noticed a real improvement in my skin, and that curiosity led me into research on how ingredients and daily rituals influence skin and overall health, drawing on my master’s [degree] in psychology and my background in biotech and diagnostics,” she shared.
