On Saturday, Holland won the Holland Invitational with a 4-2 win over Three Rivers and a 1-0 win over South Haven.
In the first match, Layray Paw had two goals to go up 3-0 at halftime. South Haven struck with two goals narrowing the gap before Riley Elders finished off the scoring. In the second match of the morning, South Haven beat Three Rivers with a last-minute goal to win 1-0.
In the final game of the Invitational, Holland and South Haven were locked in a very tight contest. It wasn’t until the 55th minute that Riley Elders scored from a pass from Layray Paw to win the match.
“We were very evenly matched with both Three Rivers and South Haven. They were strong opponents,” said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. “We were able to make a few plays that led us to two close wins. I am very happy with the way our team handled the pressure.”
Holland is now 5-2-1 and travel to Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday.

Harper Gerow scored the goal off an assist from Ella Sligh. Olivia Hayes made one save in goal for her second shutout of the year.Â
SOFTBALL
West Ottawa sweeps Holland
The Holland Dutch traveled to West Ottawa to take on the cross-town rival Panthers. In game one, the Dutch struggled to get their bats going only getting one hit. The Panthers produced four runs off of seven hits and won the game 4-0.
In game two, the bats came alive for the Holland Dutch racking up seven runs off of 11 hits. But, there were too many mistakes which allowed the Panthers to tie up the game 5-5 and eventually take the win by the score of 8-7.
Alesha VanDenberge led Holland with a great pitching effort and hit the first home run of her high school career.Â
The Dutch will be in action again next Tuesday when they host conference opponent Grand Rapids Union.Â
BASEBALLÂ
Zeeland East wins Sand Creek Invitational
Zeeland East varsity baseball won the Sand Creek invitational on Saturday defeating Concord 12-0 and Sand Creek 16-6.
Max Salas recorded the win in game one, pitching three innings, allowing one hit, no runs and striking out five. Brenston Brown was 3-for-3 with three doubles in the game.
Lukas Assa was the winning pitcher in game two, throwing three innings and allowing one run on three hits while striking out six.  Aidan Fredricks had three hits while Charlie Lacny had two, including a 2-run home run.
Zeeland East improves to 7-2 on the year and hosts Muskegon Mona Shores for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Coloma sweeps FennvilleÂ
Tre Cooper got the start in game one for Fennville, which the Blackhawks lost 16-1.
Offensively Ben Peterson lead the Blackhawks with one hit and one hit by a pitch in two plate appearances. He also had two stolen bases and a RBI. Max Machado had the only other hit and an RBI.
Ben Onken got the start in game two, which was a 14-4 defeat for Fennville.
Freshman Greyson Bale got his first varsity opportunity on the mound in relief. He pitched 3 1/3 inning allowing two earned runs on one hit, four walks while striking out three.
Nathan Griffin lead the offense with an RBI single and a run scored. Greyson Bale also had an RBI single, and Quinn Rosema collected one hit. Mason Long had a sacrifice fly for an RBI, Devohn Calhoun, Tre Cooper and Max Machado each scored a run.
GIRS TENNIS
Hamilton places second at Caledonia Invite
The Hawkeyes finished the afternoon with 12 points, good enough for second behind Byron Center’s 22 points.Â
Highlights of the meet for Hamilton were Isabella Troost taking first place in No. 2 singles and Drew VanHouten took taking second place in No. 4 singles. On the doubles side, Leah Blood and Cassidy Lezman took second place in No. 1 doubles while Sydney Wedeven and Ally Pelon took second in No. 3 doubles.Â
BOYS GOLF
Zeeland East finishes 17th, West Ottawa 16th at Hamilton invitationalÂ
The Chix traveled to Diamond Springs for the 18-hole event. The team score of 388 placed the team 17th in the field. The Chix were led by Kole Meschke who shot an 87, which was his highest score of the season so far  Jake Middleton shot a 98, Jack Anderson a 99, and Brady Nykamp scored a 104.
West Ottawa was also at the event and finished in a tie for 16th shooting a 388. Sophomore Will Niziolek led the Panthers with a 90, Freshman Hugh Ervine added a 97 as did junior Jackson Wiegerink, and senior Jack Keenan rounded out the scoring with a 104.Â
GIRLS TRACK
Holland girls take 6th at Lowell Relays
On a beautiful sunny Saturday, the girls team brought home 6th place from the Lowell Relays. The Dutch were led by Eva Whiteman’s individual wins the 300m hurdles (49.5) and the high jump (5-4), Zoe DeGraaf soared (4-8) helping the pair to be champs in the high jump relay.  Also grabbing first place was the 4×200 relay team comprised of Madalyn Daniels, Lauren Hofland, Jocelyn Lopez and Eva Whiteman (1:52.48)
